Period poverty is a serious threat to the dignity of women & girls. Gender inequality, extreme poverty, crises & harmful traditions like Female Genital Mutilation can turn menstruation into a time of deprivation & stigma. This is true for women & girls who menstruate. This leaves girls vulnerable to a host of abuses, including child marriage and sexual violence. Unfortunately, girls have been known to engage in transactional sex to afford menstrual products. To help women & girls, SIRF embarked on the #SIRFGIRLCARE2.0 project. We were able to share menstrual hygiene products to women & girls at the popular Nyanyan market in Abuja. Women can’t break barriers when they struggle with basic needs. #SIRFIWD2022 #SIRFgirlcare2.0 #BreaktheBias Special appreciation to @executivecar_hire for providing logistical support during this project. Team safety and timeliness are key to the success of the #sirfgirlcare and we thank @executivecar_hire for the good partnership. Help us spread the love with your donations.
