“Compound interest is the eighth wonder of the world. He who understands it, earns it … he who doesn’t … pays it.” ― Albert Einstein
Every minute of every day, we are stuck between making decisions. Some of these decisions are small – like what time to wake up, what to eat, who to call and some are considered big like what school to attend, what course to take, what job to do, what business to start etc
These are decisions we are faced with daily and the choices we make, either for little things or for big things are what shapes our lives
Every choice you make on something big or small has a roll-on compounding effect that shapes your future
The decisions we make every day can be seen as “bets” that turns out good or bad for the future we are trying to create – So are you’re always betting on yourself or betting against yourself?
Here are examples of some ways you can bet against yourself
You bet against yourself when:
There’s nothing worse than a life filled with regrets, and that’s what betting against yourself brings… A life of “what ifs”
These and many more “what ifs” can be avoided when you stop betting against yourself.
However, when you take the bold step of betting on yourself, you’re taking a chance. You’re believing in what’s right about you. You’re believing in your potential. You’re believing in your dreams.
And when you bet on yourself, you give yourself the chance(and permission) to win big.
This does not mean you’d always win or get what you want when you bet on yourself, but this is a risk what taking – yes?
When you bet against yourself, you’ve already lost, but when you bet on yourself – there’s that slight chance of things working out even better than you imagined
Instead of thinking what if(insert risk you want to take to get better) doesn’t work out learn to challenge that voice by asking “what if I succeed?” “What if I get all I want?” – This fills you with energy, hope and a drive to push forward
When you bet on yourself, you give yourself permission to chase after your dreams. Maybe you don’t always get what you want, but at least you can be rest assured at the end of the day knowing you gave it your best without the regrets of “what ifs”. – Is this not worth it?
