I don’t know about you but I think this was one of the fastest years we’ve seen – It’s November for crying out loud. When did we all shout Happy New Year?
But it’s also that time of the year when we’re all thankful to be alive and topmost in our mind would be traveling home (for those in diaspora) to spend time with friends and family.
Not just that, The gift-giving (and receiving) adds a certain vibe to the season
Before you worry about what gift to get for yourself or that special someone – we want to remind you of people around the world who have no one to send them gifts.
We are going to do our best to reach out to many of these folks but we also want you to do something on our behalf in your own little way because it is going to take all of us
We believe that if we all did our little parts, we can make this yuletide season one that’ll be remembered for good for everyone.
You may be looking for a way to donate to charity or help those less fortunate.
These are 4 sure ways you can make an impact:
1. Donate Money: This is the most obvious way to donate to charity. Sending money to a charity of your choice is a way to help them reach out and help more people. This gives you the peace of mind that your money would be spent towards a worthwhile cause. You can donate here or to a charity of your choice. Nothing is too small and this goes a long way.
2. Donate Your Time: What’s more important than Money… Time. At times, it feels like money is the ultimate thing we can give but our time is more precious.Giving your time in the form of volunteer work to any charity organization is a great way to make an impact this yuletide season. Find a charity organization around you and ask if they would need any volunteers this season. Find ways you can contribute with your time.
3. Donate to small Businesses: Now, this goes without saying but those small businesses around you have families who would benefit from your patronage. You can support small businesses by patronizing them more during this season. You might not know it, but every penny that a small business gets can be the difference between profit and loss, between junior getting gifts or new clothes this Christmas
4. Support Businesses that give a portion to charity: There are many businesses that send a portion of their profits to charity. These businesses are usually online businesses and you can see it on their sales page. Keep an eye out for local, independent businesses that are supporting charity initiatives this year. We hope these 4 ideas can trigger more ideas for you to start thinking of ways to help the less fortunate this yuletide season.
