“Act as if what you do makes a difference. It does.” ~William James
Ever heard the saying “Go Big or Go Home”? I bet you have. I bet you also know the implied meaning. That is, Only when you do things in a BIG way does it matter.
We live in a world where success is defined by how BIG and GRAND it is and Influence as a certain number of twitter or instagram followers.
So in trying to leave our own legacy, we want something that is as big as well – and we want it immediately, ignoring the little things that contribute to making it BIG – We want something that lives on beyond our own ripple-in-the-ocean life spans and we want it fast.
We’re not against doing BIG things as we have even BIGGER plans as a Foundation (what??!), but there are 2 misconception we’d like to help you debunk
You can argue that while Mark Zuckerberg, Bill Gates, Mother Theresa have made world changing contributions to the world and our societies, Parents who raise good kids and train them with the little they have, teachers who teach these kids and who have helped shape their thoughts and beliefs – even of the Bill gates and Mother Theresas, in their little way played a huge part in making society a better place.
Even your BIG PLANS only survive from the little things you do daily.
Lorene Deschene put it perfectly when she wrote “Whether you have grand plans or not, I think it’s important to play small every day—even while keeping your eye on a larger goal. The little things make a huge difference, both for us and the people whose lives we touch”
That said, these are 5 small ways You Can Make A BIG difference
We have such profound power when we lend an ear, a hand, or an act of kindness because it reminds the recipient that people are good. People do care.
That’s what gives life meaning: the people who touch our lives and the people whose lives we touch with small acts of kindness.
Feeling inspired.. Here’s a little chance for you to make a big difference in someone’s life
