A father’s tears and fears are unseen, his love is unexpressed, but his care and protection remains as a pillar of strength throughout our lives.

Fathers day is celebrated world wide on 20th June. This year’s Fathers day, the foundation decided to celebrate fathers in a very special way. The idea behind the project was to appreciate fathers on the streets of Abuja who come out every day to hustle and most likely don’t earn much. The categories of fathers we went out to celebrate were Taxi Drivers, Security Men, Traffic wardens, Dispatch riders, Petty traders. Team members of the foundation went out in mass on Saturday the 19th of June for a Vox Pop where we met fathers in these categories randomly on the road and engaged them in question, to know how well they know their kids. After the fun interview questions we gave each father gift bags containing Branded Mugs, branded face caps, towels, notepads, clippers, provisions, 5kg bag of rice etc. We also gave them each a cash gift of 10,000.
It was memorable experience with these fathers, the joy on their faces when they received our surprise packages for them was compared to nothing. Majority of these men have never been celebrated like this, they all prayed for the foundation and were very grateful we came out to celebrate them.
