The foundation on the 1st of June 2021 welcomed some new team members to the SIRF family. After successfully passing their interview session, a digital marketer, a video editor and an accountant were hired.
Following on our beneficiaries, a critical health case was handled by some team members. This was a very special case due to the nature of the recipient’s health and all hands were on deck to make sure his needs were met. A sum total of #200,000 was spent on this particular case. #100,000 cash gift was sent to the man and his family while another #100,000 was used to buy provisions and medications. Health is wealth and we do not joke with health cases in the foundation.
Our business support scheme is still in place as we assisted a beneficiary who sort for help with business during the week. The sum of #50,000 was disbursed for this cause. Also, on issues of rent, #45,000 was sent to a recipient who needed that amount to complete his school rent.
Cleanliness is next to godliness and we always have to maintain a neat environment so our health will be 100%. The 5th day of June was “world environmental day”. Still I Rise in partnership with Betran Cleaning Services went on a cleaning exercise at an IDP camp located in games village, Abuja. It was an interesting and therapeutic exercise for us all. We cleaned, laughed, danced and had fun with some of the kids.
The week was full of various events in and outside the foundation. One of the major events that happened is the ongoing federal government ban on Twitter in Nigeria. As a result of this ban, we’d like to inform the public that the foundation would not be able to tweet anything on our Twitter platform until this whole issue is resolved.
