Gratitude – Being grateful for what we have is the gateway to more good things coming into our lives, but with life’s ups and downs. It becomes hard to be truly grateful most times.
We think only of what we don’t have, Where we fall short, what we’ve not achieved and live in a cloud of anxiety, self-doubt and doom. This brings more of the same our way.
But when you are intentional about the things you have and practice true gratitude… You reap the amazing benefits that come with this
Some of the very things we take for granted are not necessarily luxuries, but normal everyday blessings we’ve overlooked – Education, Good health, literacy, a job, a skill, etc
It’s easy to feel bad because you’re going through a tough time in life. However, remember that no matter how bad your situation may seem, there are thousands of things to be grateful for in life.
That said,
Below is a list of things you could be grateful for in life. Most of the items on this list, if not all, would be things you’ve never thought to be grateful for
But we would show you a new way to see these situations and hope that as you read this list, you’ll think of many other things(that has happened, is happening and would happen) to be grateful for.

25 reasons to practice gratitude
- Gift of parents – for giving birth to you.
- Gift of Family & Friends – for being your support system
- Gift of sight – for letting you see the beauties of life.
- Gift of hearing – for letting you hear the voices of your loved ones, good music and communicate
- Gift of touch – for letting you feel the texture of your clothes, the breeze of the wind, hold hands with loved ones
- Gift of smell – for letting you smell perfumes, delicious aromas of food
- Gift of taste – for letting you savour the sweetness of fruits, and those nicely cooked meals
- Gift of a good immune system – for fighting viruses that enter your body. Most of which you are not aware of
- Gift of a sound mind – for the ability to think, to store memories, and to create new solutions, to be aware
- Gift of Pain – for you to become a stronger person, you have to experience discomfort
- Gift of Sadness – for you to appreciate the many spectra of human emotions.
- Gift of Happiness – for you to experience the joys and highs of life
- Gift of Oxygen – for making life on earth possible.
- Gift of The earth – for creating the environment for life to begin.
- Gift of the Internet (despite the shenanigans of the Nigerian Government) – for connecting you and others despite the physical space between you.
- Gift of Technology – for making impossible things possible and giving you “god-like” powers. (think of what your great grandfather would say if you showed him the phone, your computer or the tv when he was young)
- Gift of Books – for adding wisdom into your life.
- Gift of Time – for a system to organize yourself and keep track of activities.
- Gift of Your job/Business – for giving you a source of living and for being a medium where you can add value to the world.
- Gift of Music – for lifting your spirits when you’re down and for filling your life with more love.
- Gift of Your soul mate – If you have someone who understands everything you’re going through and with whom you can share your highs and lows.
- Gift of Your enemies – for helping you uncover your blind spots so you can become a better person.
- Gift of Kind strangers – for brightening up your days when you least expect it. Most answers to our prayers come from kind strangers who God uses to help us.
- Gift of life’s challenges – for helping you grow and become who you are.
