The International Women’s Day (IWD) is a global annual event often celebrated on the 8th day of March. Still I Rise Foundation has made it a ritual to celebrate women who are working hard to fend for their families regardless of the economic situation of the country.
The year 2021 International Women’s Day was celebrated in Osogbo, Osun state with hashtag #SIRFWoman. The beneficiaries for this project were strictly Traders who were stationed at Igbona Market at Olorunda Local government Area, Osogbo, Osun State.
The main purpose of this project was to sensitize the women on personal hygiene, social distancing and the use of nose masks and sanitisers especially in the market. As a non-governmental and charity organisation, we understand the stress that comes with dealing with different people/customers and we are aware that some traders pay little or no attention to their personal hygiene especially in this era of Covid-19.
After the sensitisation, gift bags and cash gifts were presented to these women. The gift bag contained: apron, Cap, Waist pouch, Towels, Gloves, disinfectants, sanitary pad, toothpaste, bathing soap, lip balm, Sponge, Body spray, Hand sanitizer, Nose masks and Cash gift.
The women were extremely excited and grateful. Words of prayers were said for the foundation and her entire team members.
