Women are usually the ones to take the fall and blame when a child malfunctions.
It’s not because they are at fault, it’s just because we live in a patriarchal world where it’s mostly easy to allocate blames to women and pay them no regard.
Yet women get celebrated about 3 times yearly. What does that tell you?
THEY ARE CHAMPS.
One of the days set aside to celebrate women internationally is the 8th day of March. The young and old, rich and poor, famous or not, light-skinned and dark-skinned, slim and fat, educated and uneducated are all applauded all over the world for being a woman, for being strong and for being a hero.

We at Still I Rise Foundation never miss this event. On the occasion of this year’s women’s day celebration, we decided to reach out to 10 women in the state of Osun at 11am on the 8
th of March 2021. These women are petty traders who, come rain come sun are out there, buying and selling just to take care of their family. They sometimes get carried away that they forget to take care of their own health. It doesn’t matter what they are selling or how many sales they make in a day. They keep the hard work going. Every single day that comes. The women of Igbona market located at Ọlọ́runda local government of Osogbo were elated to see us with our gifts bags. We were received with open arms even as we spoke to them on personal hygiene and the fight against Covid-19. Cash prizes were also given to support their businesses and give them hope.
