“Your body is precious. It is our vehicle for awakening. Treat it with care.” ~Buddha
Your most important asset is your body. You know why?
Because you “live in it.” – This is what holds “YOU” together.
Most times we are too busy doing the urgent and important stuff we forget to take care of the most important asset that lets us do the urgent and important stuff.
Waiting till your body breaks down to take care of it is counterproductive when you think about how productive you can get from being healthy.
Your body has its limit. This means there is only so much pressure you can put on it before it starts to tell.
Habits like:
Etc.
can quickly lead to your body or vital organs shutting down on you.
When you are stressed, you take time out to breathe, think happy thoughts and get your mind right. Your mental health is just as important as your physical health. However, the body is most times forgotten.. So how can we take care of our body to keep us in the best physical shape?
Here are 5 helpful tips to keep you going.
You guessed it right? This is now common knowledge. Everyone knows of this fact but somehow, busy lives get in the way of giving our body some stretches and fine tuning our engines.
Before it was backed by scientific research, exercising was looked at skeptically. But now we all know it is good. A healthy habit you should get used to.
Exercise is not only good for the body but great for the mind. You can walk, jog, yoga is becoming popular. Little stretches. 15-20 minutes of exercise daily or 4 times a week would help keep your body in shape.
Find somewhere in your schedule and put this in. your body will thank you for it.
2. Get Enough Sleep.
Sleep deprivation is a torture tactics used by the various spy agencies around the world. What does that tell you?
The amount of sleep you get is very important. This is when your body can rest and your brain has time to process the information and experiences you have had – consolidating memory and clearing out toxins.
Getting 6-7 hours of sleep daily should be your goal. This does not only apply to sleeping at night, naps and siestas are important once your body feels tired. If you are stressed and tired and your body needs some rest – give in.
A caveat – this does not mean you should spend your whole day sleeping. Get the best amount of sleep that allows you time and energy to be focused when you work.
You feel better and make better decisions when you are not sleep deprived.
3. Watch what you put into your body.
This is very important. Your body is a temple – nope I am not going biblical but it is mentioned there also for good reason.
Whatever gets into your body is going to be used as fuel. If you put kerosene in a generator, it would not start, and if it did, the damage would be much and worse along the line.
Our body should be treated as such. We know natural and cooked food is much better than junks and processed foods. Doing more of the healthier choice gives you the energy you need to maximise your day and your body would be in better shape.
Food is fuel, you need it to function properly. You should put less harmful stuff in your body and watch your energy levels and your mood improve drastically.
Fruits! Fruits! Fruits! – You should add some to your weekly diet.
4. Pay Attention to Pain.
If any part of your body hurts, pay attention, because your body is trying to tell you something. It is telling you something’s wrong and you should not ignore it.
If you can afford to get monthly check-ups, you should too. As detecting some ailments in time would save you a lot of pain down the line.
5. Hydrate Hydrate Hydrate.!!!
This should probably be higher up this list. Your body is 60% water, give or take. You lose water from your body when you urinate or sweat. This can lead to dehydration.
Drinking water and minding the business that pays you is a good way to take care of your most important asset.
But the first part is the most important part of all. Drinking water has so many huge benefits. You should drink at least 2-4 litres daily
Research has shown that if you don’t stay hydrated throughout the day, your energy levels and brain function start to suffer.
Our bodies are precious, so we should not neglect them.
A serene mind really is nothing without a healthy body to carry it. So take time out of your day a few times a week to care for it. Sleep, eat, rest, Pay attention.
Show your body the same compassion that you endeavor to show everyone. It needs it just as much.
A huge part of getting the life you want is taking care of your body. You have just one.

Nice topic. I think it needs to be recoined as “The most important Organ in the body is the heart; take good care of it”
All the aforementioned tips to taking care of the body applies directly with the heart. Sleep, exercise, right food intake, and enough water intake.
This is self explanatory, really
I couldn’t thank you enough
