Don’t you think it is funny how we ask ourselves questions.
Questions that only GOD can and will answer because He led us up until that point. The women were on their way to the tomb for good reasons- to embalm the body of JESUS- when they began to ask themselves an all too familiar question “who will roll away the stone?”. Notice afterwards that they were not still debarred from forging ahead to the tomb. You would think that they could have leveraged on that question as a major reason not to go to the tomb of our LORD so early but it’s amazing how they did just the opposite.
The question was never really answered as the passage above reads however we were told that their uncertainties brought GOD into the circumstance in a manner that can be indisputably described as “larger than life”. As a matter of fact, scripture isn’t clear at what time the angel came to roll away the stone (Matthew 28:2) but what we do know from scripture is that the stone had been rolled before their arrival. Trusting GOD sometimes means we get to be radical. It’s not knowing how it’s all going to end but choosing to believe HIS words in the book of Hebrews 13:5 “never will I leave you; never will I forsake you”. It’s as though saying ‘the LORD will come through for me but even if HE doesn’t, His plans for me are still great’.
How many times have we been in those circumstances where nothing seems to be going on right but you know your actions are right with GOD so you forge ahead. You forge ahead even when the “stone” is yet to be rolled away, you forge ahead when you have done all you can within the confines of your natural ability. The good news is that GOD notices all of our questions and HE pays attention to the minutest of details in our lives; Afterall HE made us for His good pleasure so yes! The stone shall be rolled away by HIM.
I challenge you to trust GOD for all the unanswered questions in your life, for all the untidied processes at your workplace, for all the uncertainties that seem to ring an alarm in your family and for all the many problems you have to go through each day not even knowing for sure if it would all be worth it. I beseech you to keep believing, to be like these women who loved GOD enough not to give up on HIM. GOD has this planned out and though giving up may seem logical but that’s just what it is, it seems; but it is not. TRUSTING GOD IS!!!
I wish you a Happy Easter Celebration
