Gratitude, which rhymes with the word “attitude,” comes from the Latin word gratus, which means “thankful, pleasing”.
Gratitude is the quality or feeling of being grateful or thankful. It is the readiness to show appreciation for and to return kindness.
Gratitude is a feeling, and its not just a feeling but a deeper emotion of thankfulness, appreciation and gratefulness for someone or something which produces positive results. It is the simple act of saying you have done well and it’s not been taken for granted. Gratitude is a personality trait, a mood, and an emotion. It is a virtue because we chose to celebrate, rather than to resent, what is. The power of gratitude has completely been underestimated as when you are grateful, it is impossible to also be hateful, angry, or fearful.
There’s this adage that’s usually told in Yoruba Language but I’ll translate. It says “a person that says thank you today will receive another favour tomorrow “. This means that gratitude opens doors for more blessings to troop in.
Scientists have proven that when we express our gratefulness towards other people, we tend to feel happier, calmer and as a result, it opens up more channels for goodness to enter into our lives.
Gratitude helps people feel more positive emotions, relish good experiences, improve their health, deal with adversity, and build strong relationships.
It is less expensive to be thankful and grateful than being ungrateful or an ingrate.
So let’s draw out a plan today: for that little favour shown towards you, for the tiny bread given to you, for the shoulder that was there for you while you wept, for the handkerchief given to you to wipe your tears, for that tiny thing done for you, SAY THANK YOU because ” Gratitude is a powerful catalyst for Happiness “

Gratitude simply means to be grateful. When someone shows gratitude towards a kind gesture, we say they have shown gratitude and some form of being grateful can even be rewarded
When one is grateful, it simply means they are also happy, so in a way, gratitude leads to happiness
