Is this the end?
With the current pandemic happening around, it is so easy for you to think that this is the end.
Everyone is “talking” about the covid-19 virus and while It is necessary for you to take precautions, there are certain things you should certainly NOT do that would help lessen the fear that is being spread and that would help protect you and your family.
For those of us, still going to schools (Thankfully now shut down as directed by the Federal Government), work and going out to hustle for our daily bread it is important we are acquainted with the “dos” from a credible source and while health professions are working to keep us safe.
There are certain things we can do to help them.
With the excessive amount of information and conspiracy theories, so many people are going around and adding their own personal bias and agenda to every news story to make the covid-19 stop you from living your life.
Before you retweet or share any information this period, be sure to triple check your facts so you are helping and not hurting others.
Remember the Ebola “Bath with salt” pandemic and how quickly that info spread?
Exactly, waking up 4am to bathe with salt and water is something I wont forget in a hurry
You would hear so many different things about the virus, and while there are currently new cases in Nigeria, learn to verify information from a credible source before you pass it on
Don’t be the guy who cried wolf.
If you decide to waste all your time debating and worrying about the corona virus, and as a result you stop doing things that would make an impact in your life, you are bound to miss out when the crisis finally comes to an end.
Unless you believe it will not come to an end and then it is okay to live every day worrying about things you have no control over.
While you should definitely practice “social distancing” and good personal hygiene – washing your hands for 20seconds and using disinfectants, spending all your time debating or arguing about covid-19 should not stop you from doing other things that would make an impact in your life and personal growth.
With the amount of fear going on now, everyone is scared to lend a helping hand to anyone who is sick.
I stay In Ibadan where there is a case of corona virus(allegedly) so everyone is walking around scared and not knowing what next to do,
Yesterday, I read a story about a man who was stoned to death in Kenya by a vigilante mob. It is scary to know that this kind of things still happen in 2020.
While you practice social distancing and good personal hygiene (washing your hand thoroughly), You should also be human and help in ways you can.
There are hotlines that you can call now and it is good we know this numbers and share them with everyone including the elderly around you.
Educate the elderly ones in and around you as not everyone has access to the internet or to the right information going around.
So whenever the opportunity arises to educate yourself do it and spread the message.
Every state has a hotline to report suspected cases of corona virus and you and I have a part to play in this.
Donald trump gave a conference yesterday on the effectiveness of our very own chloroquine as a medication to “cure” corona virus, and when I watched the speech, I decided to do a more thorough research.
Turns out that while some cases have been treated with chloroquine and a combination of other drugs, it has not been fully tested for Covid-19 – this means there is still a lot we do not know about the effectiveness of the drug.
However, some people are already buying the drugs in bulk and others are self medicating also.
I saw a tweet from @aproko_doctor on a man who was rushed to the hospital because he abused chloroquine and he also was giving it to his kids.
Remember, drugs are to be used, not abused!
These are some the 5 Don’ts to avoid during this “crisis”
Stay safe, Practice personal Hygiene, Pray for The world and most especially our country and if you and I do our bits, Corona would be something we can tell our kids about later in life.
PS: This too shall pass.

Certainly, it will pass. Nice tips.
This is quite a piece to us as one Nigeria. I could remember during the ebola outbreak, several news are carried and it really spread and went viral which eventually causes affected alot of people with health issues like the hypertensive patients who were asked to consume salt to prevent them from being infected with Ebola virus.
In this trial time, we all need to be vigilant and educate ourselves on the need to stay safe. The media should get the populace informed on the need to stay indoor and lesser the fast rate of this pandemic diseases as well as enlighten the general public that’s it’s not the end of life if eventually infected. I believe the medical teams and trying their most possible best in finding the antivirus to fight against this virus. I hope God direct and help the world in this critical time.
Thanks for sharing these tips!! I really found them useful…
