In the words of JOHN R. DOTY, M.D
“Can the best and brightest be blamed for not choosing to dedicate their lives to charitable or non-profit courses because they don’t want to live at the poverty level?!.
This is a question to ponder on, and while I appreciate his line of thought and opinion, I beg to differ.
Charity, borders down upon the mentality of both the giver and the receiver.
Charity is likened to a relationship…one that exists between the giver and the receiver. One gives, the other receives…..this is the picture seen readily, however the relationship that exists between the giver and the receiver goes beyond an exchange of perishable, tangible or physical goods and services. The receiver in turn gives back to the giver a sense of pride, joy, fulfilment, and happiness while such receiver gets a sense of worth, love, and affection. Such emotions that comes only from selfless giving and builds bonds not acquired via monetary prowess and might.
Giving should be a way of life that stems deep from a heart of gratitude, a humble spirit and a thankful mindset. A situation were the giver sees self as a part of the complex variation that exists in life. Were the giver yields self to fate, embracing the UNIQUE OPPORTUNITY TO NOT JUST CHANGE A LIFE, BUT ALSO DEPOSIT TO HIS/HER ACCOUNT IN THE BANK OF LIFE.
The receiver likewise holds the balance in the picture. Such person should and must first avoid holding self or beating self up or going on a self pity party. Rather turning such predicaments into the fuel that ignites a passion, a zeal, a determination to overturn such position and also render help to another thereby continuing the cycle.
Having a grateful heart and thankful attitude instead of AN ENTITLEMENT MENTALITY, OR LACK MENTALITY. Understanding that life is a coin and tables turn.
True giving comes from a person with a GRATEFUL disposition.
G- grateful for what life has posited under his or her care
R- resoluteness of mind to pursue the happiness of others without self gain
A- appreciation…..a full understanding of the delicate balance of life and the plight of others.
T- thoughtfulness…..putting others in consideration walking miles in the shoes of others.
E- esteem: denying self, laying aside pride, esteeming others higher than self and more deserving than self.
F- forgiving…..forgiving others who may be unappreciative or provocative. Having a clear mind always and without bias or undue interference
U- unbiased in deed and thought, friend of all, open to all
L- loving the unlovable, the unforgivable, and those that seek to exploit
L- learning…..not puffed up or with a closed mind, but rather open minded, reachable, teachable, approachable.

Great writeup! Will love to read more of this in your blog.

When we say giving, donβt just mean financially, but your time, energy and commitment. God rewards those who give generously. Itβs not about being overdramatic but itβs the little things that matter. Sharing a meal with someone or giving time to listen to a problem goes a long way. #StillIRise

βThe Almajiri Syndrome: a Possible Way Outβ
The popular clamor for the Almajiri reformation isnβt suppose to be the duty of the government alone; we too ought to throw-our-hats in the ring of this long overdue, much needed and debated campaign.
It is the duty of every one of us, as citizens of the northern states, to show an active readiness as oppose the usual passive sympathy we show in regards to scrapping the Almajiri phenomena.
Consider it a contribution to humanity to reform an Almajiri by providing a means of permanent sustenance for them as oppose the traditional practice of accommodating and nurturing their lethargy and lack of self esteem and self determination, through persistently feeding them out of crumbs and leftovers.
We should all endeavor, in our individual capacity to employ or empower in any possible way an Almajiri into what ever business institution we have, thereby equipping them with the needed financial awareness as well as qualitative social experience.
It will be more empowering, if each one of us, for instance, can put a bag of water on the head of an Almajiri, or a tray of peanuts, for them to go out there on the street and hawk, as a personal contribution to rehabilitating them than to keep furnishing them with a steady-stale-morsel that may never permanently take them out of the streets that they are for ages enslaved to.
I reckon, by sticking to this philanthropic course of action, we will not only boost their morale but also restore their self esteem or better yet serve as a catalyst for making them aware of how ineffectual their parents were in aligning them to their current precarious predicament.
Let us all join hands in empowering the Almajiris from the grassroots in order to propell them out of their involuntary bondage to abuse and decaying mindset, hence safeguarding our society from invasion by imminent ignorance, crime and poverty.
The Almajiris are also part and parcel of our society, thusly we bear a responsibility on our shoulder of rehabilitating and assimilating them; we literally owe an obligation to enlighten them on that which their naive and unfortunate parents failed to.
While only the government may posses sufficient resources and capability to fund this campaign of reforming the Almajiris, ultimately, it is only our fundamental effort and support than can make the reform most enduring and meaningful.
Together we can make a difference; together we can impact the Almajiri.
-Should we continue to feed them? In my opinion, No.
-Should we start to empower them? Possibly, Yes.
– Should we consider to employ them? Apparently, the best.
Have a nice day.
